A bunch of coincidences? I'm not so sure they don't actually qualify as synchronicities, a concept that I think was the brainchild of Carl Jung. But I'm not sure I would have been thinking about synchronicities if I hadn't pulled that book off your shelf on my recent visit - "Freud and Jung". Great name for a band, at least: if not Jupiter Sheep or Bilbo Marx, how about Freud Jung?

Freud and Jung shall be the band. You can be Freud. I’m the Jung one.

OTOH - Freud Jung sounds kind of like Pink Floyd. Need to find our Gilmour.

I want to be the Jung one, too! As far as Gilmour, I've found him. He's the guitarist for Dead Floyd, the tribute band from Fort Collins. If you hit the following link and go to 1:05:38 you'll meet Monsieur Garcia, his alter ego. Incredible jam, and I'm sure he'd sound even better playing for Freud Jung!

After writing it I thought about how I should have leaned into the weird how we never met angle with Gary. We were raised within a few miles of one another and nearly the exact same age. Three decades later we played on the same stage twice in two different cities (Sac and Davis), his wife apparently instrumental in booking our debut gig, and for several years we lived within a few blocks of one another. On top of all that we were two huge Pirate fans in exile. We probably crossed paths at Giants-Buc games in SF. Might have sat in the same section for all I know. Might have attended same games in Forbes and Three Rivers too!
